P4/P5 had a fantastic time on Friday 7th February with a trip to see Enniskillen Castle. Our topic is Castles so the boys and girls impressed Catherine, one of our tour guides, with lots of knowledge about the different areas of castles, the different jobs people used to do in the castles grounds and the different tools and weapons they used. Our next guide Julien, told us all about the Maguire's who built the castle first and showed us some of the weapons they used - he even showed us a crossbow firing an arrow! Catherine then showed us a table with all the foods the Maguire's would have eaten during a feast and told us the etiquette rules they had to follow. Before home we got to pretend to be the rulers of our own castle and make a new law using a quill to write these down. A fantastic time had by all - Thank You Enniskillen Castle!
