We had a lovely time cooking apples with brown sugar and cinnamon. The weather was lovely and mild and the children were very good at following our fire safety rules. It was lovely to talk about what they could see, smell, hear, taste, feel. P3 were able to recite an apple poem they had been learning around the campfire. Afterwards they enjoyed using the charred, cooled remains to draw pictures or write numbers and sounds.
